Our 'Choir' In the 'History' section we mentioned that, back in 1859, a robed choir was involved in the Mass. This hasn't been the case for the last 20 years or so and the only 'choir' now is the assembled congregation itself.
In Early Days St Thomas's was a pioneering Anglican church in the use of plainchant, some of which is still used on a regular basis today.
Our Music Our music now is a mixture of plainchant, traditional organ-based hymns and more modern pieces played by the church's resident music group, Ethos.
Ethos Ethos has a variable membership. The tracks listed below feature contributions from Nigel Bates (bass) , Eelin Megson (vocals), Mike North (drums), Tim Slater (electric piano) and Lindsay Uppadine ('cello).
Other, non-band contributors were Keith Appleton (keyboards), who also produced and engineered the recordings, and Ted Platt (guitar).
